Master Bedroom Before and After

Well, its been 10 months since we moved in and we are almost finished with the updates on our new house.  The Master Bedroom and Bath are pretty much the last things on our list, with the except of the kitchen.  But we aren't planning on tackling the kitchen for a few years.  We started on the bedroom last weekend and Jeff finished it up during the week while I was working.
Before Pics.  Best/Worst aspect of this room was the blue ceiling.  I mean what kind of JA paints a ceiling blue?  I guess the kind that puts wallpaper in EVERY room. :-)

After pics. We painted the walls sage green and the trim white.  We also decided to get rid of the blue ceiling in favor of a more traditional white. I still need to find some things for the walls and other decor, but for now I'm just thrilled not to have wallpaper and a blue ceiling.

Next is to tackle the master bath.  We already started taking down wallpaper only to discover some super awesome wallpaper underneath.  Here's a sneak peak of the bathroom mid remodel.

Pregnancy Highlights
How Far Along: 26 weeks
Size of Baby: Finn is the size of a cucumber (15 inches 2.2 lbs)
Total Weight Gain: 14 pounds at my last appointment, I have my next appointment on Monday so I will find out how much I've gained this month. :)
Maternity Clothes: are Awesome, I never want to wear regular jeans again.
Gender: It's a Boy! Finn Edward Sheridan
Movement: He's beem moving like crazy this week! I'm loving feeling him so much but some of his movements are starting to hurt.
Sleep: Not too good, had a dream last night that I was pregnant for 2 years and Dr. Harrison just kept telling me Finn still needed time to grow and he wouldn't induce me.
What I miss: sushi
Cravings:  Anything Chocolate, especially brownies.  I made them three times this week!
Symptoms: Indigestion and starting to get pain in my hips, lower back and pelvis when I've been on my feet too long.  Finn is super low and moved head down this week, so I've felt like he's literally about to fall out at times. Ha!
Best Moment this Week: We had another ultrasound this week.  The folks at ACH got a new machine and needed a guinnea pig to test out the settings, etc.  It was so cool to feel him moving and actually see it at the same time.

We've been working on the house the past week and have gotten our bedroom finished.  I will post before and after pics later this week.  We only have a few more things to complete before Finn gets here.  We want to get our bathroom painted and the doors in the rest of the house painted to match the trim we already painted. Jeff and I spent today deep cleaning the house and I am exhausted! Jeff went to watch the Hogs play and I treated myself to a pedicure.  It was the best 45 minutes I've had in a long time!

24 weeks

I've spent the last week totally stressing out about bedding for Finn.  I've been looking at bedding since the second I found out I was pregnant.  I found tons tons of girl bedding I loved but nothing for a boy.  When I was about 16 weeks I said forget and I wasn't going to worry anymore until I knew if the baby was a boy or girl.  As soon as we found out Finn was a boy I started looking again. First, I looked for something already made and couldn't find anything, then I found my dream bedding set but it was almost $600 for a bumper, crib sheet and bed skirt. I just couldn't pay that much for something Finn is going to throw up and probably pee and poop on at some point. HA! Then I decided I would just buy the fabric that the bumper of the set I loved was made out of since that was really what I liked the best. But then I couldn't find anyone locally to sew it and then we I did she needed a pattern and I couldn't find one anywhere that was what I wanted, and then spent the last two just generally second quessing myself.  The same thing happened to me when I was planning our wedding when it came to the invitations.  I clearly remember standing in the inviation store looking at book after book of ugly invitations crying because everything I wanted was out of our budget. My Dad happened to be with me and my mom that day and finally just said enough is enough just pick the ones you really love and I'll buy them. So last night I decided "enough was enough" and the bedding was just going to be the thing I splurged on.  I went to Cynthia East Fabrics today and meet with Amy who is amazing and is going to help me order the fabric I love for the bumper and then coordinate fabrics for the skirt and bumper ties.  I felt 100 times better afterwards and am actually excited about Finn's bedding. We placed the order for the bumper fabric today and hopfully it will be here in a few weeks!
I had to take these pictures by myself since Jeff is still at work.  I don't think I've seen him other than in the middle of the night since Monday! This is his last oncall week for a while and I am very happy about it.

22 Weeks

I had my 22 week check up on Monday and everything is looking great.  Finn's heartrate was 144, which is pretty much what it has been the last three appointments I've had. My next appointment is the 31st and I will have to have a glucose test to test for gestional diabetes then.  I decided to borrow/steal the following idea from Kelly on Kelly's Korner for my weekly/whenever I actually remember to take a picture and post pregnacy updates.

I am meeting with a lady about sewing Finn's bedding on Sunday afternoon so hopefully that will be getting underway soon.  I'm SO ready to get his room finished!  We are still looking for a dresser and rocking chair but I think we have narrowed it down.  I am hoping to have his room completely finished by the begining of April, so we can spend those last few weeks resting before Finn gets here.

Swollen Feet and Babies R Us

I have about 6 pregnancy apps on my phone.  Why, you ask. I don't know, other than the fact I find it interesting to compare what each one says and compare how they differ.  This week, one of the apps said it was time to register so of course we did.

We decided last night that we would register at Babies R Us and Target.  Tonignt we went to Babies R Us after work, it was exhausting and slightly overwhelming to say the least.  I was actually really surprised that Jeff and I agreed on almost everything without arguement.  This was NOT the case when we registered for our wedding.:-)

I think we may have gone overboard in the blanket section,we couldn't decide on a bouncer so we picked two, and we didn't find a pack n play we liked but otherwise I think it was pretty successful.  We may hit Target tomorrow or wait until next week.

When we got home I got a nice surprise when I took my shoes and socks off. My first experience with truely swollen feet.  If you look closely you can see where the polka dots on my socks make impressions in my feet. Super Sexy!  I also had a really hard time getting my rings off so I may look for a cheap alternative this weekend to wear soon in place of my wedding rings.

The folks who do the ultrasounds and ECHOs at ACH asked Jeff if I would be willing to come in and let some folks train on me so of course we jumped on the chance to see Finn again.  They did a quick once over so we could see his face and make sure he was still a boy:-) but mostly they focused on his heart since that's what they do everyday.  Finn has a perfect four chamber heart and the word beautiful was thrown around quite abit regarding his heart and vessel anatomy.  This was actually a huge relief to me.  I have always had a fear about heart defects, especially hearing about all of Jeff's patients on a daily basis.  Hopefully, they will want some more practice over the next few months and I'll get to go back.  My Dr only does one ultrasound so otherwise we won't get to see Finn again until May.

I am so excited about this weekend.  I am off tomorrow so I plan to enjoy the 3 day weekend.  I do have to put up the Christmas decorations, but my main plan is to relax and watch movies.  Hope everyone has a Happy and Safe New Years!

Lucky Little Boy

Finn is already such a blessed little boy and he's not even here yet! Not only does he have so many people who are excited to meet him, but they also love to buy him presents. Jeff and I tried really hard not to buy anything before we knew if it was a boy or girl. We did a great job and the only thing we got was the crib which we figured would work either way since a baby has to have somewhere to sleep regardless of its gender. :-) The day we found out he was a boy I just couldn't help myself and HAD to buy something blue.  I found this really sweet blue sleeper that I pictured Finn in the minute I saw it.  I can't wait to actually see him wearing it.

Jeff's sister, Angie, got us these really cute burp cloths and bib for Finn.

My friend, Amanda, who may be just as excited about Finn coming as Jeff and I got him these super cute socks.

Amy, who has been my best friend since the 7th grade, sent Finn his very first piece of mail with these goodies inside.  She made these cute clothes size dividers for his closet and a fun puzzle.  She has two boys of her own so she's definately going to be my go-to-girl for all things boy!

I can't wait to get his dresser in his room and his closet ready to put all these cute things in!
