4th of July Weekend

The Sheridan family had a pretty great July 4th and following weekend, we just didn't have it all together.  Jeff went to St. Louis with his buddies for his annual guy trip, Finn went to Jonesboro to stay with his Mimi and Papa and Sidney Claire and I had our first girls weekend at home.
On Thursday, Sidney Claire and I went to my friend Lori's house for a cookout and fireworks.  The weather was amazing and we spent most of the night on a quilt in the yard watching the boys play badmittion and just catching up.

One of the few pictures I got of the kids before Finn left for Jonesboro

Finn had a blast at the 4th of July party at his Aunt Angie's.

Sidney Claire and I had so much fun just hanging out at home.  I got some closets cleaned out, tons of laundry finished and lot of snuggle time with my sweet girl.  This is the first time I've gotten any real amount of time alone with her since she was born.  The days went by so fast when I was on maternity leave, it always felt like Finn was home from daycare an hour after I dropped him off. ;-) I loved really getting to know this sweet girl and also realized that she's kind of gotten the short end of the deal lately.  Several times in the past few weeks people have asked me if she's a good baby and I've replied with yes, but not as good as Finn was. BUT I realized this weekend, that she is just as laid back and easy as he was, I just didn't have a toddler to chase when he was a baby so I got to sit on my couch and rest a WHOLE lot more.  I am so very thankful to have been blessed with 2 easy, wonderful babies!

I got these pictures on Friday of Finn chasing his cousins around the yard with the water hose.  He is so lucky to have such sweet cousins to put up with his shenigans.

So his daddy's son....

Happy Father's Day!

Our Father's Day tradition for the last 3 years has been a trip to the Zoo. The first year, Finn was just 6 weeks old.  He was so tiny!

Family train ride! Sidney Claire wasn't interested in picture taking, she was a little annoyed she was awoken from her nap in the stroller to ride the train:-) This picture really shows how beautiful Finn's eyes are.
 Finn's "cheese face"
didn't mean to cut off Jeff's head, but this pic of Sidney Claire is just too cute not to post
 Daddy and his babies
That afternoon we went for our first family bike ride.  Jeff and I are really trying to get into shape and the kids loved it.  Finn was really sad when we got home, he just couldn't understand why we couldn't keep going.  Hopefully soon, we will be in good enough shape to go more than just a mile, haha!

And here's  a picture collage of me with my Dad and him with Sidney Claire.  Hope everyone had a great Father's day!

4 Months

Sidney Claire, you are 4 months old! Time is going by so fast and you are just growing and learning so much every single day.  I love watching you start to play with your toys and you hardly take your eyes off your big brother for a second.  With both you and your brother 4 months has been the magic time that you suddenly go from newborn to a baby with personality.  I love watching yours develop :-).

weight: 13lbs 7oz
length: 27 inches
eating:  You take 6oz of formula every 3-4 hours during the day and most of the time one during the night.  We switched you from gentlease to soy formula this month and you seem to be spitting up less, but you still have to wear a bib almost constantly.  I've started sewing you bibs and they have all turned out pretty cute.
sleep: Oh where did my good sleeper go?  I swear you slept better your first 6 weeks than you have since.  Some nights you sleep all night and others you are up 3 times. Mostly, you go to sleep between 7 and 8p wake up around 2ish and then back to sleep until 6-7a.  There is really no rhyme or reason on the nights you wake up multiple times. Daddy and I are trying to get you on a more strict schedule to see if that helps.

Big Brother loves getting in your bed.

Quick comparision.... Finn was definately chubbier but they are both the cutest babies I've ever seen!

Mother's Day Weekend 2013

We had one of the best weekends ever this past weekend.  We seriously hit the trifecta! The weather was beautiful, both kids were healthy and happy and Jeff wasn't on call!

We started out Saturday morning at our favorite place, the donut shop! It's hilarious how happy donuts make this boy.
After donuts we headed down to the RiverMarket to shop at the Farmer's Market.  Of course, somehow the boy ended up with a new dinosaur. Sidney Claire got some new hair bows and Momma and Daddy got some amazing strawberries, aspargus and tomatos.
 Love these boys!
Once we got home, we played outside while Jeff grilled steaks and aspargus for my Mother's Day Lunch.
Bubble machine is the greatest invention ever.
 Best strawberries ever. Seriously.
After naps we headed out to Pinnacle Mountain. We walked one of the trails that is paved. Good for the stroller and good for out of shape parents, haha! The trail was just under 1 mile and Finn walked/ran the entire thing.  He loved finding rocks and sticks and throwing them in the creek.  He still hasn't settled on a dominat hand, but right now he seems to be leaning towards the left when throwing.

Big brother really wanted to push the stroller, but he's just not quite tall enough to do it on his own so Daddy lent a hand.
After a great night of sleep, we headed to the Zoo on Sunday.  We really get our money's worth out of our yearly membership!:-)
Its seemed like every animal there was out enjoying the weather. We actually saw all 3 of the Rhinos which has never happened and we go ALOT! Finn also got to see his beloved Zebras, but we didn't get a picture.

Watching Cars 2 before bed. I am so thankful to be these two sweet babies Momma.
