Swollen Feet and Babies R Us

I have about 6 pregnancy apps on my phone.  Why, you ask. I don't know, other than the fact I find it interesting to compare what each one says and compare how they differ.  This week, one of the apps said it was time to register so of course we did.

We decided last night that we would register at Babies R Us and Target.  Tonignt we went to Babies R Us after work, it was exhausting and slightly overwhelming to say the least.  I was actually really surprised that Jeff and I agreed on almost everything without arguement.  This was NOT the case when we registered for our wedding.:-)

I think we may have gone overboard in the blanket section,we couldn't decide on a bouncer so we picked two, and we didn't find a pack n play we liked but otherwise I think it was pretty successful.  We may hit Target tomorrow or wait until next week.

When we got home I got a nice surprise when I took my shoes and socks off. My first experience with truely swollen feet.  If you look closely you can see where the polka dots on my socks make impressions in my feet. Super Sexy!  I also had a really hard time getting my rings off so I may look for a cheap alternative this weekend to wear soon in place of my wedding rings.

The folks who do the ultrasounds and ECHOs at ACH asked Jeff if I would be willing to come in and let some folks train on me so of course we jumped on the chance to see Finn again.  They did a quick once over so we could see his face and make sure he was still a boy:-) but mostly they focused on his heart since that's what they do everyday.  Finn has a perfect four chamber heart and the word beautiful was thrown around quite abit regarding his heart and vessel anatomy.  This was actually a huge relief to me.  I have always had a fear about heart defects, especially hearing about all of Jeff's patients on a daily basis.  Hopefully, they will want some more practice over the next few months and I'll get to go back.  My Dr only does one ultrasound so otherwise we won't get to see Finn again until May.

I am so excited about this weekend.  I am off tomorrow so I plan to enjoy the 3 day weekend.  I do have to put up the Christmas decorations, but my main plan is to relax and watch movies.  Hope everyone has a Happy and Safe New Years!

Lucky Little Boy

Finn is already such a blessed little boy and he's not even here yet! Not only does he have so many people who are excited to meet him, but they also love to buy him presents. Jeff and I tried really hard not to buy anything before we knew if it was a boy or girl. We did a great job and the only thing we got was the crib which we figured would work either way since a baby has to have somewhere to sleep regardless of its gender. :-) The day we found out he was a boy I just couldn't help myself and HAD to buy something blue.  I found this really sweet blue sleeper that I pictured Finn in the minute I saw it.  I can't wait to actually see him wearing it.

Jeff's sister, Angie, got us these really cute burp cloths and bib for Finn.

My friend, Amanda, who may be just as excited about Finn coming as Jeff and I got him these super cute socks.

Amy, who has been my best friend since the 7th grade, sent Finn his very first piece of mail with these goodies inside.  She made these cute clothes size dividers for his closet and a fun puzzle.  She has two boys of her own so she's definately going to be my go-to-girl for all things boy!

I can't wait to get his dresser in his room and his closet ready to put all these cute things in!

20 Weeks

I can't believe we are already half way there! Jeff is working late tonight and since he's oncall the rest of the week I wasn't sure if I would have a chance to have someone else take the picture.  It took me about an hour to finally get the angle right and not have a dog or dogs in the frame, haha! It's definately not the best picture I've ever taken, but it serves its purpose.:-)

We still haven't offically started on Finn's nursery, but we do have a crib and I think I've made some decisions about bedding and the rest of his furniture.

Here is the bedding I've fallen in love with.

It is way out of our budget, but I was able to find the fabric online and I've found a lady in Jacksonville, that will make it for less than half the price.  I will post more about his nursery as it comes along.

I've been feeling what I thought was Finn moving for the last two weeks, but yesterday and today I have felt some real kicks. They are few and far between, but I can't wait until they are more frequent.

We are heading to Fort Smith on Thursday morning for  Christmas and I'm not sure what I'm more excited about, seeing my family or eating at Juans!  Hope everyone has a Very Merry Christmas!

Officially Going From Blog Stalker to Blog Writer

So, I've spent alot of time stalking other people's blogs over the last couple of years, but have never started one myself.  For one thing I never knew what I would blog about if I had one, my hobbies pretty much include watching TV, spoiling my dogs, trying to remodel our new house with limited income and  reading blogs. And who honestly wants to read about me watching One Tree Hill, painting yet another room, and buying my dogs crap they don't need.
Now that we are having a baby I've had several people ask us to start a blog, especially since all of our family lives out of town. So I guess this blog will be pretty much for the grandparents and aunts and uncles because who else really wants to see 5 million pictures of our kid.
That being said here are the first offical pictures of Finn.
This is my favorite because you can see his sweet little lips and it looks like he's waving hello.
This is his little bitty foot.
The first thing the ultrasound tech saw was this....guess Finn was anxious for us to know that he was definately a boy and we could stop calling him "it".
His profile.

Finn is due May 6, 2011, so until then I guess I will update the blog with belly pictures and the progress on his nursery.  We are so excited to meet this little guy!
