5 Months

5 MONTHS!!!! Seems impossible but its true. Finn is growing so fast I swear he grows in his sleep some nights. September held lots of first for our little guy incuding, unfortuantely his first illness. He got a cold that turned into croup and then an ear infection. It wasn't much fun around here for a few days, mainly because sleep was non existent.
I am loving this age, especially getting to see Finn's personality really develop.  He is still really laid back and happy 99% of the time.  He rarely cries and when he does he is usually just hungry or sleepy.  He is chewing on EVERYTHING, as evidenced by the following picture.  He is constanting chewing/drooling on something.
 Stats:
weight- 16 lbs 1oz at his last appointment which was a follow up on the ear infection on 9-21-11.
height: 26 inches at 4 month check up
Still wearing a size 2 diaper at home, but has been wearing a size 3 at daycare for awhile.  We are lucky that his daycare provides wipes and diapers, but for some reason they don't have 2's. so he's been wearing 3's there since he started. We will be switching to 3's at home in a few weeks once we run out of the 2s we have.  We have been so blessed to have recieved so many diapers has gifts.  We have yet to buy diapers because we needed them.  Although, we've bought a few boxes when we've found a good sale.  I think we have two big boxes left before we will actually have to break into any we've purchased.
Finn is wearing 6-9 month, 9 month and 6-12 month clothes.  Why every store sizes their clothes differently is beyond me.  Pants in this size are a little long, but we just roll them up and I've actually bought a few shirts in 12 month depending on the brand.  He is wearing a size 2 shoe, but we rarely wear shoes.  I figure once it gets colder we will wear them more.
We are still nursing at home and taking bottles at daycare. Finn also eats solids at dinner each night.  So far we have tried squash, carrots, peas, sweet potatos, and pears.  He likes peas the best.
Sleep:  Wow! Sleep has been a huge issue this month.  We have been so lucky to have a good sleeper since birth that I really wasn't prepared for the lack of sleep that comes with illness.  There were a couple of nights where the only way Finn could sleep at all was sitting upright, which meant Jeff and I took turns sleeping in the chair holding him.  Once he was well, he still wanted to be held all night which cause a few more sleepless nights for all of us, while we got back to normal.  Thankfully, he is back to sleeping through the night!
This picture cracks me up! Its like he's giving his bear a good talking to.
Finn is soooo close to rolling over, but it still hasn't happened.  I know he has the strenght to do it, but he's just not that interested.  I have a feeling he is going to be like his daddy and do things on his own terms in his own sweet time.  I'm praying for patience already. :) He is also close to sitting up on his own and likes to sit up with the boppy as support or on between our legs on the floor.  He still loves the exersaucer and likes his "johnny jump up" but still hasn't figured out how to jump.
